Onboarding wizard

After you sign up and verify your email, HeyNews walks you through a short onboarding wizard.

Step 1: Confirm your setup path

First, HeyNews asks what you are setting up.

  • Choose Creator if you write or run a newsletter for your own audience.
  • Choose Company if you are setting this up for a business or team.
  • Say whether the newsletter already exists.

If you already have a creator newsletter, HeyNews sends you to source setup. If you are starting a new creator newsletter or setting up a company newsletter, HeyNews asks you to book a setup call first.

Step 2: Connect your newsletter

If you already send newsletters through beehiiv, Kit, or another platform with a public archive, you can connect it here. HeyNews will:

  • Check the connection
  • Show how many past issues it found, when that information is available
  • Save the source for training after your trial starts

This step comes before trial checkout so HeyNews knows which past issues to learn from. If one source cannot be checked, choose another option such as a public archive, RSS URL, or CSV export.

Step 3: Save your setup

After your source is saved, HeyNews can continue to trial checkout. Your 14-day trial starts after checkout, and HeyNews starts preparing your AI Writer from the source you selected.
