What is a publication?

A publication is your newsletter's home in HeyNews. It holds your sources, AI Writers, issues, and settings. When you sign up, HeyNews creates one publication for you automatically. When you connect another beehiiv or Kit newsletter, HeyNews creates another publication so each active newsletter stays separate. Newsletter archives add past issues to the publication you're already using.

Language

Choose the default language for your publication. All languages are supported.

Click Save after updating any publication settings. You'll see a confirmation when changes are saved.

Archiving a publication

If you no longer use a publication, you can archive it from the Publications page in the sidebar.

  • Archiving stops new source checks for that publication and hides it from your sidebar.
  • HeyNews clears the active setup tied to the archived publication, including AI Writers, sources, automations, and connected source records. Existing saved issues stay available where expected during the restore window.
  • Your archived publication stays restorable for 30 days in case you change your mind. You can restore it from the same page during that window.
  • After 30 days, the archived publication and its AI Writers, sources, stories, and drafts are permanently deleted.
  • You can't archive your last active publication. Create another one first if you want to replace it.
