Security settings

Use Settings > Security to change your password and see how HeyNews protects connected accounts.

Changing your password

  1. Go to Settings > Security
  2. Enter your current password
  3. Enter your new password. It needs at least 8 characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, a number, and a special character.
  4. Confirm the new password
  5. Click Update Password

You can set or change a password even if you originally signed up with Google. After that, you can sign in with email and password, magic link, or Google.

Account deletion

HeyNews is rolling out self-serve account deletion from Settings > Security.

If you see Delete Account, the app will show what will be removed before you

continue.

Before you delete your account, export or copy anything you still need. Account

deletion is permanent. If you have an active subscription, deleting your account

cancels your subscription immediately and signs you out after the request starts.

The deletion flow asks you to:

  1. Review the publications, connections, subscription, saved history, and

in-progress work that will be removed or canceled

  1. Confirm each destructive change
  2. Enter the account deletion verification code sent to your email
  3. Type DELETE as the final confirmation

After the request starts, HeyNews shows a request ID and signs you out. Keep that

request ID in case you need to contact support.

If you do not see the in-app deletion option yet, email

support@heynews.co.

If you only want to retire one publication, go to Publications in the sidebar and archive that publication instead. Archived publications can be restored for 30 days before they are permanently deleted.

Account deletion removes your newsletter connections and:

  • Your user account
  • Your publications
  • Your newsletter drafts
  • Your saved history, sources, and stories
  • All AI Writers
  • Your connected integrations

This action cannot be undone.
