Publication owners manage their plan and billing from Account settings > Subscription.
HeyNews has four paid plans. Pick the one that matches how much you publish.
Yearly: $327.60/year (30% off, about $27.30/month). Turkish Lira pricing is ₺1,560/month or ₺13,104/year.
Everything in Hobbyist, plus:
Yearly: $831.60/year (30% off, about $69.30/month). Turkish Lira pricing is ₺3,960/month or ₺33,264/year.
Everything in Starter, plus:
Yearly: $2,511.60/year (30% off, about $209.30/month). Turkish Lira pricing is ₺11,960/month or ₺100,464/year.
Everything in Pro, plus:
Yearly: $4,191.60/year (30% off, about $349.30/month). Turkish Lira pricing is ₺19,960/month or ₺167,664/year.
Your issue allowance resets every month on your subscription anniversary, even if you pay yearly. Annual billing changes how often you are charged, not how often your issue allowance renews. Deleting a Draft does not return an issue to the current month's allowance.
Story history is how far back your story library goes in Content Desk and Compose. Every active plan and the free trial include a full year. Issues you already wrote keep their own copy of the stories they used, so past issues are not affected.
Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial after you add a payment method, regardless of the plan you pick:
The trial limits apply to every plan. Your plan's full allowance (5, 15, 45, or 90 issues per month) starts the moment the trial ends.
During the trial, the Subscription tab shows "Free Trial" on your plan card and lists the price as "No charge today" followed by the price after trial. You'll also see the trial limits: 5 draft issues total, 1 publication, and 5 revisions per draft. Under that, HeyNews shows the full plan allowance that starts after billing begins.
Pricing and offer links can preselect a plan, billing cycle, and discount code for checkout. You can still review checkout before the trial starts. If the discount cannot be used, checkout opens normally so you can continue or enter another code.
HeyNews sends reminder emails before your trial ends. When the trial period ends, your subscription begins automatically. Cancel before the trial is up and you won't be billed.
You can also start your subscription before the trial ends. If you hit a trial limit, such as the per-draft revision limit, HeyNews offers to start the plan you picked at signup right away, with the exact amount due shown before you decide. Confirming ends the trial that day, charges your saved card for the amount shown, and applies your paid plan's limits. Declining changes nothing. Only the Billing Owner can start the subscription this way.
HeyNews supports USD and Turkish Lira billing for paid plans and add-ons. If your app language is Turkish and you have not picked a billing currency before, HeyNews defaults your first checkout to Turkish Lira. You can switch between USD and TRY before opening Stripe Checkout.
Changing your app language later does not change an existing paid subscription's billing currency. If you already have a paid subscription, only the Billing Owner can change billing currency from Account settings > Subscription.
For active paid subscriptions, a billing currency change applies at the next renewal by default. It does not create an immediate prorated charge or credit. The Subscription tab shows your current billing currency and any pending currency change, and you can cancel a pending change before renewal.
While a currency change is pending, finish that change or cancel it before changing plans, switching billing cycles, changing publication capacity, or adding or removing add-ons. This keeps Stripe from applying an older scheduled price set after you make a newer subscription change.
During a free trial, the Billing Owner can choose USD or TRY for the first paid charge without ending the trial or charging immediately.
Admin-granted subscriptions are not charged through Stripe, so they do not show a real USD/TRY switch. The granted plan's limits remain available until HeyNews revokes the grant, even if an earlier Stripe trial or subscription was canceled or expired. Because this access is not paid, automatic source checks pause for a publication after 14 days without a visit to Content Desk or Compose. Open either page for that publication to resume the checks.
Add-ons work with any active paid plan and add to your plan's normal limits.
Add-ons are not available during the free trial. You'll see the Add-ons section with a note that says "Available after trial ends," but the Add buttons stay off until your subscription starts billing. That way, you won't get surprise add-on charges when the trial ends. If you need more capacity while trialing, start your subscription early from a trial limit prompt, then add any add-ons once billing begins.
Removes the per-draft revision limit on Hobbyist, Starter, and Pro. Team already includes unlimited revisions.
Add extra issues per month when you need more capacity without upgrading tiers.
Add extra connected publications to any plan.
Collaboration Seats cover accepted Members and pending invitations. Starter includes 1 seat, Pro includes 3, and Team, Enterprise, and active Company Newsletter packages include unlimited seats. Hobbyist and the free trial do not include a seat.
If an invitation cannot be sent because no seat is available, People & access confirms that nothing was sent and keeps the email address and Publication Role you entered.
If you close this message with the close button or Escape, keyboard focus returns to Invite. In-app recovery actions move focus to the next dialog or the relevant section under Account settings > Subscription. If an action opens your email app, the message closes first. Focus returns to Invite if HeyNews remains visible.
After you update the Subscription, return to the same Publication in People & access. Your unfinished invitation will still be there. Prices, currency, and available billing options always come from Account settings > Subscription.
If your add-on spend nears the cost of the next tier, HeyNews shows an upgrade prompt on the Subscription tab. Upgrading usually gives you more capacity for about the same cost.
From the Subscription tab you can:
If you switch to a plan with fewer publication slots than you currently use, HeyNews asks you to disconnect publications or add enough publication capacity first.
Need a short break? On an active paid plan, the Subscription tab has a Pause for one month button.
HeyNews sends a confirmation email and inbox notice when your subscription is paused and when it resumes. Pause is not available during the free trial, while a payment is past due, or for admin-granted accounts.
If Stripe cannot collect payment, your account is paused until the invoice is paid. You'll see an Update Payment Method button in HeyNews, and Stripe may also email you a secure payment link.
Your data stays in place. Once the payment succeeds, your subscription becomes active again and you can keep working.
If you don't subscribe before the 14-day trial ends, your account is paused and you'll see a full-screen message when you log in with a Subscribe Now button.
Your drafts, sources, and settings stay exactly as you left them, and your story history is still there. Subscribe and pick up right where you left off.
Before the current flat-rate plans, Pro used a single graduated-tier price with one billing slot per connected publication. Customers on those legacy subscriptions keep their current pricing, capacity, and publication count. The Current Plan card notes "Legacy quantity-based pricing" so you know which pricing model you're on.
Click Cancel subscription from the Subscription tab to start the cancellation flow.
Every plan keeps a full year of story history. Issues you already wrote also keep their own copy of the stories they used, so past issues are never affected by anything that happens to your story list.
After cancellation is scheduled, HeyNews sends a confirmation email and inbox notice with the date your access ends. If support schedules cancellation for you or you cancel from the Stripe portal, HeyNews still shows the same Keep my subscription option after the billing status syncs. If you keep your subscription, HeyNews sends a confirmation that your plan will continue. After the billing period ends, HeyNews sends a final confirmation, stops checking sources, and disables newsletter generation.
Trial cancellations are immediate. HeyNews sends a confirmation email and inbox notice after your trial is canceled. After canceling a trial, restarting is paid-only, so a new free trial isn't available. Use Open Billing Portal to view invoices, update your payment method, or open the Stripe customer portal at any time.
