Send a finished draft to beehiiv

You no longer have to copy a Draft out of HeyNews and paste it into beehiiv.

Open Connections & imports, find Send drafts to beehiiv, and connect your beehiiv account. Pick which of your beehiiv publications should receive drafts. Then open any saved Draft in Draft Review and choose Send to beehiiv.

HeyNews creates a post draft with your title, subject line, preview text, and body already in place, and links you straight to it in beehiiv. If that publication has sent an issue before, the new draft picks up its look: your theme, byline, social buttons, and footer carry over, so it arrives looking like your newsletter rather than a blank post.

HeyNews never sends anything to your subscribers. It only creates the draft. You review it in beehiiv and send it yourself.

Send the same Draft again after editing it in HeyNews and the beehiiv draft updates in place. If you edited that draft inside beehiiv, HeyNews leaves your edits alone and creates a separate draft instead, linking both so you can compare them.

Send a saved article straight to Compose

After you use Save as story in the HeyNews Chrome extension, choose Add to Compose to put it into the draft you are building. Your selected Stories and Draft Brief stay in place.

If Compose is not open, HeyNews opens a new Compose tab with the Story selected. If your open tab belongs to another Publication, you can open a separate tab for the Story's Publication instead.

Set a password without a current password

If you created your account with Google or a magic link, you may not have a current password to enter. Account settings previously asked for one before it could save a new password.

You can now set one without signing out. Open Account settings > Security and choose Set a password with a recovery code. HeyNews sends a 6-digit code to the destination shown on the page. Enter the code, choose and confirm your new password, then save it. If the code expires or never arrives, send yourself a new one.

Google sign-in and magic links still work after you set a password. A password simply gives you one more way to sign in.

Fixes

  • The App Language menu in the top bar works on Compose again. The page's own toolbar sat over the open menu, so the second language option ignored clicks while the first still worked. Every option is clickable now.
  • AI Writers trained from several past-issue sources now keep examples from each source in the mix instead of letting the newest import crowd out the rest.
  • Saved Drafts now load the Stories they used even when those Stories are older than the first page in Content Desk.
  • Pasting a page that returns an error no longer creates a Story from the error page. HeyNews offers browser import for a blocked page and a retry for a temporary server error.
  • Newsletter archive connections that imported past issues but missed their first Voice Training run now recover automatically and build their AI Writers.
  • Regenerating a saved Draft now moves Compose to the regenerated Draft's address.
