Generated drafts are now better at keeping the closing lines that belong to your newsletter, including sign-offs, invitations to keep reading, and mentions of your other newsletters.
Calls to action are linked only when the link comes from a Story you selected or a reusable link you approved in the AI Writer's Voice Profile.
HeyNews now checks that the links in a generated draft come from your selected Stories or the reusable links in your AI Writer. It also catches unfinished placeholders before the draft is saved.
If either check fails, HeyNews rewrites the draft once. If the second version still has an unsupported link or placeholder, nothing is saved and you can try again.
Older links to Publications and Connections & imports now take you to the page you expected instead of sending you back to Account settings.
Compose now gives the story pool and your selected stories more space. On smaller screens, switch between Story Pool and Selected without losing your place.
If you have several ready AI Writers, choose one before the story workspace opens. You can switch Writers later from the header without taking space away from story selection.
Select Best is now a quieter shortcut rather than the main action. After it picks stories, use Undo to restore the selection you had before. When you are ready, Write Draft sits directly below your selected stories.
The sidebar now groups work by the publication you selected. The publication name also appears in page headers, so it is easier to check which newsletter you are changing.
Saved work now lives under Issues. Past writing and AI Writers live together under Voice & past issues. Publishing platforms, archive feeds, and file imports are grouped under Connections & imports.
On mobile, Dashboard, Compose, and Issues stay within reach. Everything else is available from More.
Compose asks whether to save or discard unsaved changes before you leave. If an archive check finishes without finding a usable issue, the connection now says so and points you toward the newsletter's RSS feed or public issue archive.
If an automation prepares your Friday issue on Thursday, the AI Writer now writes with Friday in mind. The issue date follows the lead time and timezone you saved, including seasonal clock changes.
This fixes weekday-specific lines that could previously refer to the day the draft was prepared instead of the day readers will receive it.
If your next issue starts in a spreadsheet, document, or Slack message, you can now paste the whole link list into Compose. HeyNews finds the links, removes duplicates, and shows what it will add before opening any pages.
The links become one-off Stories and join your current draft selection in the same order you pasted them. They do not create recurring Sources. Larger lists keep working if you close the window or leave Compose, and you can retry failed links or continue with the Stories that are ready.
You can refresh the page or navigate away while HeyNews refines a saved Draft. When you return, Compose restores the work in progress or applies the finished copy as unsaved changes for you to review.
The Draft stays temporarily locked while the refinement runs, so another edit cannot overwrite the result. If the refinement fails, your previous copy stays intact and becomes editable again.
