Add a Draft Brief in Compose when one issue needs a particular angle, theme, or connection between Stories. The brief applies only to that draft and clears before the next one, so it will not change your AI Writer.
You can now add, edit, or remove up to 20 Style Rules on each AI Writer. Use them for choices such as ending the intro with a call to action or keeping one section within a certain length. A rule can apply to the whole issue or to a section you name, and saved changes take effect on the next draft without new Voice Training.
For rules that ban a phrase or set a character range, HeyNews now checks the finished Draft and makes one repair attempt when needed. If the repair still misses a rule, the Draft stays available and Draft Review shows what needs attention.
If a collaborator saves changes while you are editing, HeyNews shows you the latest saved rules without discarding your draft.
Your AI Writer now refers to a few recent past issues while writing the draft, subject line, and preview text. These examples help it keep details such as humour, paragraph rhythm, emoji habits, and sign-offs without copying old sentences or links.
If your past issues are short, like an imported set of intros, Voice Training now learns from up to 40 of your most recent issues instead of stopping at 8. Newsletters with longer issues keep the same coverage as before. You'll see the difference the next time you train an AI Writer.
Training also treats your own calls to action, sign-offs, and mentions of your other newsletters or products as part of your voice, so newly trained AI Writers keep them in drafts. Third-party sponsor blocks and ads still stay out.
HeyNews now uses each Section's name, description, and Story count when deciding where selected Stories belong. Link placement also follows the pattern learned by that AI Writer, with inline links as the fallback.
Subject and preview suggestions can keep emoji or exclamation patterns found in past issues. When there is no clear pattern, HeyNews leaves them out.
Cancel a Refine with AI request before the AI Writer starts applying your change, and it no longer uses a revision. Cancelling after work starts still counts. The confirmation now explains the difference.
On plans with a revision limit, the Compose counter appears after your first revision. Unlimited plans no longer show a limit counter.
Compose now starts with Stories published since the selected AI Writer's last Draft. If that Writer has not created a Draft yet, it starts with the last 7 days.
Use the new date menu to choose the last 24 hours, another preset, a custom number of minutes, hours, or days, or calendar dates. Rolling choices stay with each AI Writer and are shared with your collaborators. Calendar dates apply only to your current visit.
Connections & imports, Voice & past issues, and Content Desk now return to their first tab when you open the page without a specific tab in the link. Switching back to that first tab works immediately, even after visiting another tab.
Tabs on those pages and Rewards now work consistently with a keyboard. Use the Arrow keys, Home, or End to move between tabs, then Enter or Space to open one. Screen readers also get a clear link between each tab and its content.
