What's new - July 29, 2026

Voice Training now catches an unfinished AI Writer before it appears ready. It also draws writing examples from more than one history source when your Publication has them, instead of letting the newest source crowd out everything else.

New Drafts and Refine with AI keep the useful writing patterns and link text from those examples without carrying over old destinations. Current Story links and Reusable Links you approved still work as before.

Your issue allowance renews every month

Paid plan allowances now reset each month, including when you pay yearly. Deleting a Draft still does not return an issue, because the allowance covers issues generated during the month. Account settings > Subscription shows the same monthly count, so the usage you see always matches what generation checks, and switching to a smaller plan is judged on this month's issues rather than everything you've ever created.

Invitation recovery keeps your work

Publication invitations now keep their context through signup and every supported sign-in method. If there is no Collaboration Seat available, HeyNews keeps the email address and Publication Role you entered and points the Owner to the available next step. Custom-quote and pending-quote accounts now get the right Book a call or Talk to us action instead of a restart option that cannot work. The recovery message also returns keyboard focus to Invite or moves it to the next action, so keyboard users do not lose their place.

Faster, more reliable Story lists

Filtering and scrolling through large Story lists should feel smoother in Content Desk and Compose. If relevance sorting takes too long, Compose now loads the available Stories in date order instead of showing a load failure.

Inactive unpaid Publications pause source checks

For a Publication without a paid subscription, automatic source checks pause after 14 days without a visit to Content Desk or Compose. Open either page for that Publication to resume them. Paid Publications continue checking sources regardless of page activity.
