Each connected newsletter is its own publication

When you connect a newsletter platform (beehiiv or Kit), HeyNews automatically creates a dedicated publication for it. Your AI Writer, sources, and analytics are scoped to that newsletter. Switch between publications using the switcher at the top of the sidebar.

If you have multiple integrations under one publication, you'll see a split option on the new Publications page. Splitting moves your AI Writers and sources to separate publications, one per newsletter.

The sidebar got reorganized. Your active publication now shows at the top of the sidebar, so you always know which newsletter you're working on. Connections moved out of Settings and into its own page in the sidebar navigation.

The header is now just a dark mode toggle and your account menu. Everything else lives in the sidebar where it belongs.

Kit App Store

If you found HeyNews through the Kit App Store, you can now install it directly from there. The OAuth flow handles login and setup in one go; there's no need to sign up separately first.

AI won't write sponsored sections

HeyNews was occasionally generating sections that read like sponsored content. That's fixed. Generated newsletters won't include sponsored sections.

Fixes

  • Best Send Times showed inflated percentages. The Analytics card was multiplying percentages that were already percentages. Fixed.
  • Notification settings weren't saving. Changes made in Settings > Notifications silently failed. They save now. We also removed four toggles that didn't correspond to any actual emails.
  • Performance data now syncs every hour instead of every 6 hours. Analytics numbers should be noticeably fresher.

Analytics fixes for beehiiv users

Two bugs were quietly making the Analytics page wrong for beehiiv users:

  • Analytics showed no data at all for some accounts. A mismatch in how API credentials were stored meant the sync wasn't finding your beehiiv connection. That's resolved. Your data should populate on the next sync.

We also added a View all link in the Recent Newsletter Issues section on the Dashboard that links to the full Analytics page.

AI Writer training shows the right status

Two fixes to the training flow:

  • If some parts of the training process hit an error, but your AI Writers were still created, the dashboard no longer shows "Training Failed." It now moves forward correctly.
  • The "Your AI Writers" card on the dashboard showed "Start Training" even while training was actively running. It now reflects what's actually happening.

"Publication" is now "newsletter."

We updated the language throughout the app to match what you actually use: newsletters, not publications. The change appears on the Connections page, in subscription settings, and during onboarding. Nothing changed about how the product works.

Chrome Extension: article saving fixed

Sometimes the HeyPost extension saved articles with empty content. That's fixed. Articles you clip will now arrive in HeyNews with their full text intact.

Kit (ConvertKit) integration

You can now connect your Kit account from Settings > Connections. Once connected:

  • Import your past broadcasts as newsletter issues
  • Sync performance data from your Kit campaigns to the Analytics page
