Scheduled drafts choose stories more flexibly

Automations no longer depend on a fixed source list. Set the minimum and maximum story count, choose the date window, decide whether older stories can be reused, and HeyNews picks the best eligible stories when the draft runs.

That helps recurring issues stay useful when the strongest story comes from a different source than expected.

Draft limits fail earlier

If your account is at its draft limit, HeyNews now stops before starting a new draft, rather than letting generation begin and failing later. The limit message is clearer, and background drafts follow the same rules as drafts you start by hand.

Stories stay in the right publication

For accounts with more than one publication, story matching now stays inside the publication you're working in. Smart Select and automated story checks no longer borrow context from another newsletter in your account.

Fixes

  • Story lists sort more reliably by date when you have a large story library.
  • Account and automated draft emails are more consistent, including unsubscribe handling.
  • Your cookie choices are applied before HeyNews loads analytics.
