Scheduled drafts are here

You can now use Automations to create newsletter drafts on a schedule. Pick an AI Writer, choose when the issue goes out, set how early you want the draft prepared, and HeyNews will build the draft in the background.

Automations use fresh stories, write the draft, create a subject line and preview text, and save everything to History. Nothing gets sent automatically. You still review the draft before it reaches your readers.

Notifications are easier to track

The bell in the top bar now keeps important account updates in one place, including draft-ready notices, source sync issues, generation errors, billing updates, and AI Writer status changes.

You can still choose which emails you receive from Settings > Notifications. In-app notifications stay visible even when you turn off the matching email.

Smarter story picks

Select Best now pays attention to each AI Writer's section story counts. If your "Top Stories" section usually has 5 stories and your "Quick Hits" section has 2, Smart Select follows that structure instead of falling back to a generic count.

Dashboard and subscriber fixes

The Recent Newsletter Issues table on Dashboard now uses the same open and click rate scale as Analytics. Open rates no longer look smaller than they are, and low click rates like 0.1% stay visible instead of appearing as 0.0%.

Connections and Publications now use the latest synced platform stats when an older stored count is empty. That keeps subscriber totals from showing as 0 when beehiiv or Kit has already synced a real audience count.

Fixes

  • Suspended accounts no longer receive sign-in links that can be used.
  • Account notice emails are sent more reliably.
